FAQ

IrishInternet.ie is an Irish VPN and secure internet connectivity service operated by Cloud Communication and Networks Limited. It provides shared and dedicated Irish IP options built on the WireGuard protocol.

A VPN (Virtual Private Network) creates an encrypted connection between your device and a VPN server. Your internet traffic travels through that connection and appears to come from the VPN server’s location — in our case, Ireland.

WireGuard is a modern VPN protocol known for being fast, efficient and relatively simple to implement. We use it as the underlying connectivity protocol for our VPN plans.

Shared VPN routes you through a shared Irish IP pool shared with other customers. Dedicated IP VPN assigns you an Irish public IP reserved for you, so your address stays consistent. Both use WireGuard and the same speed tiers.

A dedicated IP is a public IP address assigned to you alone, rather than shared with other users. Because it does not change, it is useful for remote work, business systems and services that need a consistent address.
